David’s passion for fine wine began while putting himself through school working as a waiter, sommelier and chef, but he found his true inspiration while living in Paris. It was there that he first experienced the art of wine, food and culture in a way that was spiritual. Having been a student of fine wine and food his whole life, this project is a culmination of three decades of experience.
He has been hand crafting distinctive Pinot Noir since 2010. Domaine Della was created around his obsession and enchantment with Pinot Noir. His quest is to create an exceptional wine for you and your shared special moments and memories while executing against the envisioned future of a timeless brand which will endure the generations.
Domaine Della’s mission is to craft intense and adventurous wines by partnering with the very best growers to create an exceptional wine. These are wines of extremely limited production.

The restaurant is owned by Chef Sunny Gerhart, who has spent much of his culinary career in the Triangle. Besides working at Enoteca Vin on Glenwood Avenue and Watts Grocery in Durham, Gerhart helped Chef Ashley Christensen open Poole’s Diner and was her executive chef at Joule.
