When Winemaker Christopher Carpenter envisions each new vintage of Cardinale, he becomes a composer to each of their esteemed Napa Valley mountain vineyards. Together, the Cardinale vineyards create a perfect composition in a remarkable Cabernet Sauvignon that, like every great work, transcends the sum of its parts. Cardinale, located in the heart of Napa Valley’s world-renowned Oakville District, crafts a single Cabernet Sauvignon from each vintage. The wine is a limited-production blend from Napa Valley’s most recognized mountain appellations including Mt. Veeder, Spring Mountain, Howell Mountain and Diamond Mountain. In the bottle, Cardinale is sophisticated, powerful, and a true expression of Napa.
La Jota Vineyard Co.
Founded in the 1890s, La Jota Vineyard Co. overlooks Napa Valley from high upon Howell Mountain. The volcanic soils, elevation and climate of this unique site yield wines of great fruit intensity, structure and aging potential. La Jota wines are handcrafted at their original 1898 fieldstone winery and hillside cave. From the low yielding vines of 28 mountain acres, they produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and their crown jewel, the annual Heritage Release Cabernet Sauvignon.
Mt. Brave is a tribute to the pioneering spirit of those who settled the rugged terrain of Mt. Veeder during the 1800s and an homage to the native Wappos, “the brave ones,” who were the original inhabitants of this extraordinary place. Mt. Brave produces staggeringly intense and complex wines from its high-altitude estate vineyard in the Mt. Veeder AVA located in the Mayacamas Mountains.
Mt. Brave produces staggeringly intense and complex wines from its high altitude estate vineyard in the Mt. Veeder AVA located in the Mayacamas Mountain Range. First planted to grapes in the 1860s, this wild and isolated wine-growing region features panoramic views, sparse soils, steep terrain, and some of the lowest yields in all of the Napa Valley. Despite being the largest AVA in Napa Valley, Mt. Veeder produces less than 2% of all its wines. For over 150 years determined winegrowers have farmed this mountain landscape where many thought the conditions too severe, too extreme, and too lacking in promise.
Galerie is a collection of wines, crafted through the artistic and scientific sentiments of Winemaker Laura Diaz Munoz. The collection is encapsulated in four wines: two Sauvignon Blancs and two Cabernet Sauvignons that express two distinct growing regions – Napa Valley and Knights Valley. The labels of Galerie, painted by artist Malia Pettit, depict a bold vine creeping across the canvas of wine bottles. The vineyards of Galerie have been carefully chosen with specific clonal selections typical of the Loire Valley in France, to marry Winemaker Laura’s European sensibilities with extraordinary New World fruit.
